Why do I feel tired all the time?

Why your decisions are making you tired

I read that a human makes, on average, 35,000 conscious decisions a day. There are 1,440 minutes in a day. So that’s more than 24 decisions every minute.

Those figures are crazy to me. How is our brain working so quickly to decipher, weigh up and contemplate so many different factors constantly throughout our day?!

I have seen a lot of talk on social media recently about ‘decision fatigue’. If you have not heard of this before, ‘decision fatigue’ is the mental exhaustion caused by making too many decisions. It can lead to procrastination, poor decision-making, or impulse decisions.

When I learnt about decision fatigue, I realised that this is exactly why I feel so tired at the end of the day. I feel like I’m constantly being asked questions from ‘what is for dinner?’ to ‘what do you think we should do?’ Whether it’s my personal or professional life, the questions are constant.

I started The Everyday Girl Edit because sometimes I feel like life can be more difficult than it needs to be. I find myself struggling to make decisions about simple things like which coffee to order and which running shorts to wear. I think part of the reason for this is the constant input of information, mainly from social media. I find I’m being influenced to buy things because ‘I need them’ and ‘it will change my life ’, only to be disappointed with the quality, performance or functionality of that product.

So, welcome to The Everyday Girl Edit. A platform that makes decision-making simple. A review and recommendation you can trust and that actually works because I have tested it, tried it or done it. From clothing, gym workouts, holidays and more, I want to share my thoughts and what I think is worth it. So I’ve coined the phrase… ‘EDGE Approval’. The Everyday Girl Edit approval. Tried and tested by a normal girl (me!).

So the next time you are feeling overwhelmed by a decision about what to buy or where to go- come to The Everyday Girl Edit first and hopefully we can help alleviate some your decision fatigue.
