3 things I am doing to prepare for moving abroad

Moving abroad sounds fun to say (and I am sure it will be fun) but there is also a lot of admin to do to make it possible. Every time I sit down to tick something off the list, 3 more things pop into my head that I need to do.

So, in order to try and break things down and for people who might be in a similar situation or or maybe considering moving abroad, here are 3 things that you can start with today.

  1. Selling things you don't need

Vinted is my best friend at the moment. I have been sorting through all my clothes and books that I no longer need or just don't want to be taking with me. Some clothes have been sold because the change in climate will mean I just won't wear them as much and others are just part of a general de-clutter. Starting this early has really helped me to feel more organised with the move.

2. Friend catch ups are booked in!

Time goes by much quicker than you think it will so making sure you get dates in the diaries with your friends is going to be so important. This can be a harder task than it seems with everyone's busy schedules but if you start sooner rather than later you are more likely to be able to get something booked in to make sure you have time for everyone you want to see before you go.

3. Research for life admin

You can't do everything all at once and a lot of the stuff has to be done at certain times (maybe even after you have moved). So, doing your research on what like admin you need to organise means you can pull together a list and a general timeline and what needs to be done and when. Think about those more 'boring' tasks e.g. bank accounts, student finance and cancelling memberships. Keep a list and tick things off as you go, this will help you keep track of the list that seems never ending.

These are just 3 things that I have been doing to make me feel a bit more organised and have given me a great starting point. Please comment if you have any tips or recommendations and subscribe for more!
