I had the best long weekend in Paris last year, so if you’re planning a trip soon don’t worry I’ve got the perfect itinerary for you.

Day 1- Arrival and dinner

Day one of your trip is going to be arriving in Paris and making your way into the city. To get to Paris from the airport, you can take the train. We booked all our transport on the Ile-de-France app. It is really easy to use, and it means you can use the metro to get around Paris.

Once you arrive in Paris, you can make your way to your hotel to check in. We then got ready and headed straight out for some dinner. We went to Zapi. This is an Italian restaurant in the 1st Arrondissement. The interior is quirky, and the food was just what you want after travelling. We then walked along the Seine for about 40 minutes and made our way to see the Eiffel Tower in the dark. Of course we waited to see it sparkle before then heading to get a crepe and calling it a night.

Day 2- Sightseeing around Paris

Day 2 was my favourite day of the trip. We just spent the whole time wandering around the lovely streets of Paris and seeing all the sights. This included: the Lourve, Tuileries Garden, the Olympic Cauldron, Cafe Carette (famous hot chocolate), Place du Trocadero and the Arc de Triomphe. There was so much more we wanted to see, but we squeezed as much as we could into one day.

We chose to eat at a rooftop restaurant to really appreciate the views of Paris, and I would really recommend doing this, or if you just want to stop by for a drink, that would be a great way to fit more into the day. We chose to go to Creatures. This was a vegetarian small plates restaurant on the rooftop of Galeries Lafayette Paris Haussmann. This restaurant has now closed, but the same chef has now opened Balcon Bistro in the same location.

After watching the sunset from the rooftop, we enjoyed a stroll around the streets before getting some ice cream to round off the day (if you are looking for nice ice cream, Amorinos is always a solid option).

Day 3- Disneyland

Disneyland is a great day in Paris if you haven’t been before. What I would say is if you have bee n to Disneyland before, I don’t think it’s worth using one of your days in Paris to do this. I just think there is so much to see in Paris and with a short trip like this, Disneyland can take quite a large chunk of it. So unless you have never been or you're a Disney super fan, I would recommend using your final day in Paris to explore some of the other areas like Montmarte.

We flew home the next morning at 6am, and we were back and ready to start work at 9am in the UK. The perfect weekend trip!
